Brian Gawley suffered cuts, scrapes, bruises and blisters during his ordeal in the woods for nearly three days before being rescured.

The most potentially serious unjury was the one on his head just inches from the shunt that helps keep him alive. The head and facial cuts and bruises happened on the first night, wandering in the forest.

Brian suffered countless cuts and scrapes on his legs bushwacking in the dark while wearing only running shorts. The blisters on his feet were severe and crippling.
